Danbury Police Log: Probation, Strangulation, Threatening, Risk of Injury

The Danbury Police provided the following information. A person charged with a crime is not guilty until having been convicted in court.

Danbury Police said Kimberly Myers, 34, of Waterbury, was charged with risk of injury to a minor and five counts of third-degree assault Tuesday at 10 a.m. Myers was charged when she turned herself in at the Danbury Police Department.

In a separate case, said Tyrell Callands, Locust Avenue, was charged on a warrant for violation of probation. Police said they saw Callands acting suspiciously at 2 Mill Ridge Road, and when asked to identify himself, Callands gave another person's name, who the officer knew. After a quick check, police found a warrant out for Callands charging him with violation of probation. He was held on a $10,000 bond.

In a separate case, Danbury Police said Juan Garcia, 46, of Bates Place, was charged with disorderly conduct, interfering with a 911 call, third-degree assault, second-degree threatening and third-degree strangulation after argugin with a woman about whether or not she still loved him after their being together for three months. Police said Garcia grabbed the woman by the throat, took her cell phone when she called 911 and threatened to kill her. He was held on a $15,000 bond for arraignment Thursday.
