Danbury Police Investigating Serious Car Crash

The Danbury Police Department received a call for a serious motor vehicle collision on Clapboard Ridge Road just north of Old Hayrake Road before 5 p.m. Monday. Driver Raquel Ballesteros Martinez was operating a 2005 Chevy Silverado northbound on Clapboard Ridge Road. As Raquel Ballesteros Martinez passed Old Hayrake Road she began to lose control of her vehicle driving off the road to her right, and striking a CL&P pole. The impact caused serious damage to the vehicle and pole. It took more than an hour to extricate people from the heavily damaged vehicle.

Because of the serious injuries to the victims, emergency medical personal from Danbury Hospital came to the scene to assist. The cause of the collision is under investigation by the Danbury Police Traffic Division. Any witnesses please contact Sergeant Rory DeRocco at (203) 797-2157.
