Danbury Police: Home Invasion, Baseball Bat, Investigation

Danbury Police charged one man from Newtown after people on Padanaram Road in Danbury reported a home invasion at about 11 p.m. Saturday.

Danbury Police charged Jacob George, 37, Church Hill Road, Sandy Hook, with first-degree assault, second-degree threatening, home invasion and disorderly conduct after a fight in a Padanaram Road home Saturday at 11 p.m.

Danbury Police said two men and a women were upstairs in a home at about 11 p.m., when they heard noise downstairs. A few seconds later four men came into the room demanding to know where another resident of the house was. Police said the men attacked one of the residents, and eventually knocked him to the ground, and George hit the man with a baseball bat. The men fled without finding the person they were looking for, and the victim was taken to Danbury Hospital with injuries to his head, back, stomach and legs. The missing resident had walked down the road to McDonald's.

The woman knew three of the attackers, who all worked for the same Newtown construction and landscaping company. The fight appeared to center around missing equipment, and Danbury Police, with Newtown Police were able to find one of the attackers, Jacob George, in Newtown. Police are looking for the other men. George was held on a $100,000 bond.
