Danbury Police: Heroin, Narcotics, Within 1,500 Feet of a School

The following information was provided by the Danbury Police Department. A person charged with a crime is innocent until having been convicted in court.

Detectives from the Special Investigations Unit and officers from the Community Condition's Unit were doing surveillance on Rowan Street on Monday and as a result witnessed a series of hand to hand drug transactions and additional surveillance took them to a North Street Gas station where they say a dealer, Chris Carolina, 42, of Rowan Street, met some buyers. Carolina was charged with sale of narcotics, possession of narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of narcotics with intent to sell and possession of a controlled substance. He was held on a $50,000 bond.
 Police also charged Jennifer Turlay, 28, of Hospital Avenue, Danbury. Turlay was charged with possession of a controlled substance (Xanix) and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was held on a $2,500 bond.

Kevin Jones, 53, of Foster Street, Danbury, was charged with possession of  narcotics (heroin,) and possession of narcotics within 1,500 feet of a school. Jones was released on a written promise to appear in Danbury Superior Court on Oct. 4. Jaswinder Singh, 54, of Golden Hill Road, Danbury, was charged with possession of a narcotic (methadone,) and possession of narcotics within 1,500 feet of a school. He was released on a $2,500 bond.
