Danbury Police: Graffiti, Driving While Intoxicated

One driving while intoxicated and one graffiti Thursday in Danbury.

Danbury Police Officers responded to Ring Road at about 7 p.m. Thursday in reference to a motor vehicle crash with injuries. Operator Joseph Leheny, 26, New Milford, was charged with driving while intoxicated and improper passing.  The operator of the other vehicle as well as a passenger in Leheny's vehicle were transported to Danbury Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Leheny was released on a $500 bond.

Danbury Police Officers were dispatched to the rear of 5 Shalvoy Lane at 10 a.m. Thursday on a report that a railroad employee had detained a man who was spray painting a bridge. Upon their arrival they spoke with the railroad employee and Jeremy Sporbeck, 20, Danbury. It was determined that Sporbeck was in the middle of "tagging" the Rail Road Bridge when he was stopped by the employee.  Sporkeck was charged with third-degree criminal mischief and third-degree criminal trespass. Sporkeck was released on a written promise to appear in Danbury Superior Court on Sept. 30.

This information was provided by the Danbury Police Department. A person charged with a crime is innocent until having been convicted in court.
