Danbury Police: East Ridge Condos Heroin Bust

Danbury police from the Special Investigations Division and the Community Conditions Unit investigated and charged two people Friday with dealing heroin.

Danbury Police charged a Danbury man and a New Fairfield man with selling heroin at East Ridge Condominiums Friday after an investigation initiated after neighbors complained.

Police said after people complained about illegal drug sales taking place in and around 5 Nabby Road, Danbury, (East Ridge Condominiums,) an investigation was initiated by members of the Special Investigations Unit and the Community Conditions Unit. During the course of the investigation, Frank Vinelli, a resident of the complex, was identified as selling heroin in and around the complex.

  On Friday at 2:06 p.m., investigators approached Vinelli as he sat in a car within the condominium complex.  The car was being operated by another man identified as Thomas Ford.  Both Vinelli and Ford were found to be in possession of a large quantity of heroin, packaged for sale. Based on these findings, Vinelli and Ford were charged and held on cash bonds pending arraignment or release on bail.

Frank Vinelli, 30, 5 Nabby Road, Danbury, was charged with possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, less than one ounce, possession of narcotics with intent to sell within 1,500 feet of a daycare and possession of narcotics within 1,500 feet of a daycare. He was held on a $100,000 bond.

Thomas Ford, 23, 5 Pheasant Drive, New Fairfield, was charged with possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, less than one ounce, possession of narcotics within 1,500 feet of a daycare and possession of narcotics with intent to sell within 1,500 feet of a daycare. Ford was held on a $50,000 bond.
