Danbury Police: DUI

Brookfield man charged Friday morning with driving under the influence after driving toward a Danbury police officer in his lane.

Danbury Police charged Mark Daab, 43, Brookfield, with driving under the influence and failure to grant half the highway after he drove toward on-coming traffic on Osborne Street after midnight Friday. Police said Daab drove toward a Danbury Police officer in the officer's lane, and after being stopped, Daab jumped out of the car and said, "That's it, I'm done!" He smelled of alcohol, police said, and Daab failed all three field sobriety tests. He posted a $500 bond and is scheduled to answer the charge in Danbury Superior court on Feb. 25.

This information was provided by the Danbury Police Department. A person charged with a crime is innocent until having been convicted in court.
