TOM FOLEY CAN'T MANAGE HIS CAMPAIGN FINANCES - HOW IS HE GOING TO RUN THE STATE?

Hartford, CT - Tom Foley keeps trying to qualify for public financing - and it still hasn’t happened. After the State Elections Enforcement Commission questioned his initial submission for his public finance grant, Tom Foley sent out a fundraising blast last week to fill the hole.

Now, it turns out that after collecting campaign contributions twice and exceeding the cap on out-of-state contributors during his first grant application, questions continue to surround roughly $3,700 in his attempts to receive public dollars.

“Qualifying for public financing is an exercise in financial management for $250,000. With multiple significant missteps during this process, Tom Foley has shown that he is incapable of managing his own campaign finances,” said Devon Puglia, spokesman for the Connecticut Democratic Party. “This is a candidate who has demonstrated zero competency in an endeavor that requires him to manage about one thousandth of one percent of Connecticut’s budget - how in the world does he plan to run the entire state? If he can’t even run a competent campaign, voters have to wonder not just whether he can run Connecticut, but just how recklessly he would do it.”
