Veteran, Longtime Danbury Resident Richard Rousseau, 79

Richard L. Rousseau, 79, of Danbury, beloved husband of Irene Dachenhausen Rousseau, died on June 30, 2014 at Masonicare, Newtown. He was born on March 4, 1935, son of the late Jean Leon and Jeannette (Donnelly) Rousseau.

Richard worked as a mechanical engineer at Unimation for many years. He later retired from Miller Stephenson, Danbury. Richard had attended the First Assembly of God Church in Brookfield.

He worked hard to provide for his family and enjoyed taking care of others. Richard liked to build birdhouses. He was an avid reader and was very knowledgeable.

Along with his cherished wife Irene of 49 years, he will be sadly missed by his son David Rousseau of Danbury; step son Dale Baker of Danbury; step daughter Dawn Baker of Port Crane, NY; his brother Milton Rousseau; sisters Betty Jean Potoczek, and Marilyn Ross; grandchildren David and Derek Rousseau; his nephew Leon Rousseau; and many other nieces and nephews.

Funeral Information

Graveside services were held on Thursday at the State Veterans Cemetery, 317 Bow Lane, Middletown.
