Tarsia G. Merrill Obituary

The funeral for Tarsia G. Merrill of Danbury takes place today at 11 a.m. at the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church.

Tarsia G. Merrill, age 70, of Beaver Brook Road, Danbury, beloved wife of Marvin Merrill, died at Danbury Hospital on Thursday, Jan. 13. She was born in Itonia Crete, Greece, on Nov. 19, 1940, daughter of the late Georgios and Katerina Abpakoaianakh.

Mrs. Merrill made her home in the United States in 1957 and settled in Danbury 45 years ago. She was employed by Pelham Products of Bethel for 40 years as an assembler, retiring in 1999.

Mrs. Merrill was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who lived for her family. She will be sadly missed.

In addition to her husband, Marvin, she is survived by her two sons, Richard “Dick” Frederick and his wife, Amy of Danbury, Robert Frederick and his wife, Jeanine of Danbury; her two daughters, Mary Stokes and her husband Rodney of New Milford, and Elizabeth Houle and her husband, Richard of Plainville; and her fifteen cherished grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Minolli; and her sisters, Kaloipi and Maria; as well as nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held Jan. 19 (today) at 11 a.m. at Assumption Greek Orthodox Church with Fr. Peter Karloutsos officiating. Burial will following Wooster Cemetery.
