Raymond H. Gustavson

Raynond Gustavson, a World War II U.S. Navy veteran, died Tuesday after living his life in Danbury.

Raymond H. Gustavson, 86 of Danbury, husband of Ronnie (Solomon) Gustavson died on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at Danbury Hospital.

Mr. Gustavson was born in Danbury, September 28, 1925, a son of the late George and Isabelle (Tremont) Gustavson.  He attended Danbury schools.

A World War II U.S. Navy veteran, Mr. Gustavson was a retired sales man in early years with Harry Harris Auto Supply and later with Levine Auto Parts.

A lifelong Danbury resident, Mr. Gustavson was an accomplished guitarist and was a member of the Danbury Musician’s Association.

In addition to his wife, Ronnie of sixty-five years, he is survived by a daughter, Deborah Cassavechia and her husband, Larry of Danbury; two sons, Raymond H. Gustavson, Jr. and his wife, Maggie of Mt. Clair, VA and Eric P. Gustavson and his wife, Pamela of Brookfield, CT; a sister, Lillian McCue of Danbury; three brothers, Richard Gustavson and his wife, Patricia of New Fairfield, CT, Ralph Gustavson and his wife, Joyce of Burlington, VT and Rudolph Gustavson and his wife, Helen of Danbury; four grandchildren, Eric Cassavechia, Lindsey Cassavechia Liss and her husband, David, James Gustavson and Nicholas Gustavson; a great granddaughter, Adrianna Liss, two grandchildren of his heart, Jared and Kaylee Cassavechia and several nieces and nephews.

Private funeral services and burial will take place at the direction of the family.

There will be no calling hours.
