Obituary: Valentina Bellfatto, 72, died at Danbury Hospital on Dec. 3

Valentina Bellfatto, 72, of Danbury, beloved wife of Salvatore Bellfatto, died peacefully at Danbury Hospital on Tuesday, December 3. She was born in Port Chester, NY on June 15, 1941, daughter of the late Faustino and Eleanor (Guzman) Chavez.

Val worked for many years as a CNA for the Danbury Visiting Nurse Association in addition to private duty. She enjoyed sewing and was a talented painter.

Val was a longtime member of First Assembly of God Church and her faith was an integral part of who she was. She was active in many church activities including prayer ministries. For 28 years she was honored with the task of preparing the monthly communion for her church family.

In addition to her loving husband of 56 years, Sal, she will be sadly missed by her son, Angelo Michael Bellfatto of New York City; her daughter, Veronica Casturani of Brookfield; and her two cherished granddaughters, Gabriella and Gianna Casturani. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her brother, Angelo Chavez, and her sister, Eleanor Billington.

Funeral Information

Funeral Services will be held at the First Assembly of God on Saturday, December 7 at 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Wooster Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the church on Friday evening between the hours of 4:00 and 7:30 p.m.
