Obituary: Robert L. Hayden, 81, passed on Sept. 5 at Danbury Hospital

Robert Hayden, 81, died on Sept. 5, and his funeral service takes place Sept. 10 at 11 a.m.

Robert L. Hayden, 81, of Danbury, died on Sept 5 at Danbury Hospital. He was the husband of the late Dolores (Parille) Hayden.

Robert was born in Danbury September 11, 1931, the son of the late David and Mary E. (Hill) Hayden. A lifelong area resident, he was a graduate of Henry Abbott Technical School and served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War, stationed in Alaska.

Robert was employed for many years as a mechanic at both Park Cadillac Oldsmobile and Fair Cadillac Oldsmobile in Danbury. He volunteered as a little league baseball coach in Danbury for many years, and was an avid fan of the New York Yankees.

Robert is survived by his daughter Donna M. Pratt and Douglas E. Minck of New Milford, his longtime companion Linda Parks of Danbury, his brother and sister in law Charles and Judy Hayden of Huntingdon, TN, and his grandson Christopher A. Pratt of Sandy Hook, along with several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will take place on Tuesday September 10 at 11:00 a.m. in the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury . Burial will be in Saint Peter Cemetery, Danbury.

The family will receive friends at the Green Funeral Home on Monday September 9 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
