Obituary: Modesta Conceicao

Modesta Conceicao, mother of Jose Machado of Danbury, died on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at Danbury Hospital.  She was born in Vreia De Bornes Vila Pouca de Aguiar, Portugal on January 28, 1921, the daughter of the late Anibal and Maria Adelina Machado.  She was  the wife of the late Antonio Conceicao.

A resident of Danbury since 1978, she was a homemaker and a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish, Danbury.

In addition to being survived by her son, Jose Machado and his wife, Beatriz of Danbury, she has three sisters in Portugal, three granddaughters, Nela Cortereal, Nancy Drotar and Mary Ann Higgins; seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 19, 2011 at 9 a.m. in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 149 Deer Hill Avenue, Danbury.

Burial will take place in Vreia De Bornes Cemetery, Vreia De Bornes, Portugal.

There will be no calling hours.
