Mildred Houghtaling Chiarella, 78, beloved widow of Ralph J. Chiarella, died July 6, 2013, at Danbury Hospital after a long courageous battle with cancer. Mrs. Chiarella was born in Danbury, August 16, 1934, daughter of the late Richard Houghtaling and Marie Michaud Mott, and step father Henry Mott, Sr.
Millie enjoyed gardening, loved animals and watching T.V.
Millie is survived by her brother, Henry Mott, Jr., her sister Shirley Mott, Catherine Webb all of Danbury and Harriet Abrams of Bethel. She was also survived by her several nieces and nephews.
Millie was predeceased by her brothers, Harry and Robert Houghtaling, her sister Margaret Houghtaling, her nephew William Chiarella and niece Carolyn R. Abrams.

A funeral service will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday, July 13 at Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White St., Danbury. Burial will follow in Wooster Cemetery.
The family will receive friends between the hours of 5 and 7 p.m. on Friday, July 12 at Cornell Memorial Home.
