Obituary: Mary A. Cordio

Mary A. Cordio died Oct. 17, 2011, surrounded by her family.

 Mary A. Cordio, 80, of Danbury died peacefully surrounded by her family at Hancock Hall on October 17th after a long illness with Alzheimer’s disease.

She was the wife of the late Anthony J. Cordio Sr. and will be sadly missed by her children; Linda Lamparelli, her son-in-law, Detective Joseph Lamparelli, Ronald Cordio and his fiancé, Elizabeth Perrotti and Anthony Cordio Jr. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren; Christopher Lamparelli and his fiancé, Emily Moran and Corey Lamparelli; her brother George Krakovich and his wife, Renata and her sister Helen Krakovich; and several nieces and nephews who loved to be around her.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed all the children and animals in her neighborhood, always giving out candy, conversations and dog bones. All those who knew her adored her. She loved to cook and her family will always remember her spaghetti sauce as the best ever!

The family would like to extend a Very Special Thanks to all who made her comfortable and happy on the second floor at Hancock Hall. You were special to her and to us. I know you will miss her wonderfully entertaining melodies and we know you will never forget you ABC’s.

Funeral services for Mary will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, at Cornell Memorial Home. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery.

The family will receive friends also on Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
