Obituary: Luan Henrique Pitol Died in Danbury Stabbing

Luan Henrique Pitol, 19, of Danbury, son of Lucio and Carmem (DeOliveira) Pitol died on Saturday, December 7, 2013.

Danbury Police said Pitol was the victim of a stabbing Saturday night near the corner of Wooster and Grand streets before midnight. Police are investigating the incident. Arrests are expected. Police said two people were taken to Danbury Hospital after a large fight, and the one who survivied may have posted photos of the person who stabbed him on facebook. That rumor is unconfirmed as of Tuesday evening. 

Luan was born in Brazil, January 20, 1994 and came to the United States at the age of 9 settling in Danbury.

He attended Danbury schools, Danbury High School and was an apprentice carpenter.

Luan enjoyed the sport of soccer.

He was an active member of the Brazilian Community of St. Peter Parish of Danbury and the Brazilian Catholic Center.

In addition to his parents, Luan is survived by a sister, Luana Pitol Figueiredo; nephews, Lucas and Pedro Figueiredo; paternal grandmother, Rose Pitol; maternal grandparents, Antonio and Carmalita DeOliveira; aunts, uncles including Sebastian and Gilbert DeOliveira and cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at 7:30 pm in St. Peter Church, 121 Main St., Danbury with Father Leonel S. Medeiros officiating.

Interment will take place at the direction of the family.

The family will receive friends at St. Peter Church on Thursday between the hours of 5 pm and 7 pm.
