Obituary: Joseph Deep Sr., died Saturday, Oct. 12

Joseph Deep. Sr., 89, of Danbury, husband of the late Jenny (Bogues) Deep, died on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at his residence, Maplewood of Danbury.
Mr. Deep was born in Lawrence, MA, October, 24, 1923, a son of the late Alex and Mary (Harp) Deep.
He moved to Danbury with his family as a child and attended Danbury schools.
A former hatter, Mr. Deep was later employed with the Unimation Corporation and later at the Danbury High School in their buildings and maintenance division.
An avid NY Yankee fan, he enjoyed to hunt and fish and was a member of the morning group at Dom’s Garden Center, Danbury.
He was a member of St. Anthony Maronite Catholic Church of Danbury.
Mr. Deep is survived by two sons; Joseph Deep, Jr. and his wife, Laurie and David H. Deep and his wife, Maureen Gianni all of Danbury; a brother, John N. Deep of Danbury a grandson, Joseph Deep III and his wife, Janice of Bethel’ three great grandchildren, Brittany, Suzanna and Ryan and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Deep was predeceased by a sister, Jeanette Gallagher.
A Mass of Christian Burial will celebrated on Thursday, October 24, 2013 at 10 a.m. in St. Anthony Maronite Church, 17 Granville Ave., Danbury with Fr. Leonel Medieros officiating.
Interment will be private and at the direction of the family.
The family will receive friends following the mass.
