Obituary: Jack Burlinson

Jack Burlinson died on Friday, December 16, 2011 at the age of 70.

Jack Burlinson, of Bridgewater, beloved husband of Joan (Holick) Burlinson, died peacefully at Danbury Hospital in the presence of his family, on Friday, December 16. He was born in Danbury on May 30, 1941, son of Mary (Chiarella) Belansky of Danbury, and the late John K. Burlinson, Sr.

Burlinson was a graduate of Henry Abbot Technical School, Class of 1959.  He was a Veteran of the United States Army Reserve. He worked as an Electromechanical Designer for many area companies including Hamar Laser Instruments in Danbury.

He was a member and past president of Dusty Golf League, and Sokol Lodge #30, where he served as president for 32 years. He loved golfing, fishing, gardening, and was an avid NY Giants football fan.

In addition to his mother, Mary, and his wife, Joan, he will be sadly missed by his children, Ara Burlinson and his wife, Amanda of Oxford, John Sawyer of Bloomfield, NJ, Sherry Sawyer and her husband, Mark Briganti of Newtown, Brian Burlinson of LI, NY, Tracey Burlinson of Danbury, Shawna Renna of Brookfield, and Shane Burlinson of New Milford; and his six grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, David Burlinson of NJ, Ken Burlinson of FL, Paul Belansky and Tim Belansky of Bethel, Jay Belansky of Danbury; his sister, Carol Setaro of FL; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Alan Burlinson.

Funeral Services will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Danbury, on Tuesday, December 20 at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Monday, December 19 at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, between the hours of 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.
