George E. Sibbitt, of Danbury, died Feb. 22, 2012, at Danbury Hospital. He was the husband of Maureen J. (McInerney) Sibbitt. Born in Indianola, NE, he was a son of the late Charles and Nellie Vincent Sibbitt.
Sibbitt attended Great Plain School and . An 18 year employee with Republic Foil, he retired in 1986 as a shipping clerk. Sibbitt was previously an assistant yard foreman with Goos Lumber in Danbury. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and gardener.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Alan, and four brothers. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons: Edward C. Sibbitt and his wife, Sue Ann, of Bridgewater, George M. Sibbitt of Danbury, one sister: Virginia Lais of Danbury, 8 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A private graveside service will be held in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury.
