Obituary: Fred Booth

Fred Booth died on Friday, October 28 at the age of 63.

Fred Booth was born the son of the late Alexander and Caroline Booth on January 27, 1948. He lost his well fought battle with cancer on October 28, 2011.

Booth attended Danbury High School. He worked at Viking Wire for 21 years, managed Knicks Motel and a petting zoo in Brookfield. He then started his own painting company, “Top of the Ladder Painting”, until the onset of illness in 2008. He loved music, playing cards and games with family and friends. He especially enjoyed going to the casino.

He will be missed by his son, Fred Booth and his fiancé Dawn Alix of Naugatuck; his partner, Evelyn Parille LaMendola of Danbury and her children, Joe Lamendola and his wife Andrea of New Milford; Janine LaMendola and her partner Kim Kanesky of Danbury, John LaMendola and wife Dana of Brookfield; seven fantastic grandchildren, Jessica and Kenny Sciuto of Danbury, Quin Lamendola of New Milford, Samantha, Jack, Cooper and Jamie LaMendola of Brookfield; a nephew, William Morrison and his wife Marguerite of Danbury; a niece, Norma Fearn of Watertown; two aunts, Ruth Burke of Newtown and Gertrude Gagnon of Lawrenceville, GA; his cousins, Debbie Smith and her husband Tim of Lawrenceville, GA, April White and her husband Mike of Glenmore, PA and Pam Lovelett and her husband Bruce of Enosburg, VT and a sister-in-law, Rose Morrison of Danbury. Fred was predeceased by his brothers, Al, Gus and Warren and his half brothers, Bill Morrison and Ali Chauvin.

Heartfelt thanks go to Dr. Michael Cohenuram and his staff at the Praxair Cancer Center for their warmth and compassion. Also, thanks to Dr. Christopher Foglia for all his kindness and to Lynn, Julie and Mary and all the angels in the Chemo Dept. Thanks also goes out to the Danbury Visiting Nurse Association and Regional Hospice of Danbury. Special thanks to the staff that attended to Fred at Bethel Health Care.

Calling hours will be from 2 to 5 PM on Sunday, October 30th at Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White St., Danbury, CT. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
