Etelvina de Almeida, of Danbury, died on Feb. 23, 2012. She was born in Furtado, Concelho de Fornos de Algodres, Portugal on March 13, 1919 the daughter of João de Almeida and Carolina Melo.
She was married in 1946 to António Rodrigues. They had 2 children, António Cabral and Adilia Rodrigues. Her husband died in Brazil in 1946. António Cabral lives in Queluz, Portugal. Adilia Rodrigues married Manual DaSilva on March 21, 1970 and they moved to Danbury in March of 1975. Etelvina moved from Portugal to Danbury to live with her daughter in January 1979. She was a devout Catholic and enjoyed reading the bible. She loved spending time with her 4 grandchildren and 7 great grand children.
She is survived by her two children António Cabral and Adilia DaSilva. Her son António Cabral, has 2 children, Diogo and João; and her daughter Adilia DaSilva,has 2 children Ana Claudia and Daniel. Her great grandchildren are, Emma, Alex, Alyssa, Kayla, Gonçalo, Inês, and Tiago.
There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Feb. 25, 2012, at 10:30 am at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish, 149 Deer Hill Avenue, Danbury, CT 06810.
Interment will follow a funeral in Algodres, Portugal. Funeral Arrangements entrusted to in Danbury.
