Obituary: Dorothy Stock

Dorothy Stock dies at the age of 69.

Dorothy (Lisanti) Stock, of Danbury, died on January 15, 2012 at Danbury Health Care after a long and courageous battle with cancer and other associated illnesses. Dorothy was a life-long Connecticut resident, living in various towns in the Danbury area for the duration of her life.

She was a homemaker for most of her life, until 1975 when she went to work in the Danbury Hospital Housekeeping Department where she had many friends and enjoyed the work she did. Dorothy loved music and she loved to sing with her family. She also enjoyed the Friday night card games at her in-laws' homes during her marriage to Edward. She was crazy about seafood, and she loved the animals she had throughout her lifetime, especially her cats. Once she became a resident of Danbury Health Care, she was very active in their community and had many friends, and she was also the resident treasurer.

Stock was pre-deceased by her father Basil K. Bartram, Sr. and her mother Dorothy Arlich Bartram, first husband Edward A. Stock Sr., and her second husband Jack Lisanti. Dorothy is survived by her three sons: Arthur Stock and his wife Linda, Mark Stock Sr., and Edward Stock Jr. and his wife Katrina, all of Danbury. She is survived by brothers Basil (Bart) Bartram Jr. and his wife Dorothy of New Milford, Waldo Bartram and his wife Darlene of Ohio, David Bartram of Hartford, William Bartram Sr. and his wife Anne of Florida, and sisters Sharon Bartram of New York and Nona Talarico and her husband Anthony of Florida. She is also survived by her grandchildren Paul and Rachel Stock of Danbury, Drew Stock of North Carolina, Casey and Mark Stock of Danbury, Andrea and Andrew Stock of Danbury, and two great-grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 18 Clapboard Ridge Road Danbury, on Saturday January 21 at 11 am with the Reverend Walt Harper officiating. Interment will be at a future date at the family's convenience.

Friends may call in the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street Danbury, on Friday January 20 from 4 pm to 7 pm.
