Lifelong Danbury Resident Eileen Frances Scalzo, 89

December 23, 1923 - April 08, 2013

Eileen Frances Scalzo, 89, gently moved into heaven on Monday April 8, 2013 with her family standing by her side. She was born on December 23, 1923 and was a lifelong resident of Danbury.

During World War II, Eileen served proudly as an Air Raid Warden. She retired from the Danbury News Times after 25 years.

Eileen was a significant part of her entire family’s existence, with whom all shared their lives, and memories. She was the closest thing to a true Saint that many in her family and friends have ever witnessed. Her grandnephew, Greg Grandieri acknowledged that, “She's the only person I know to never once raise her voice, say a curse, nor wish bad on anyone, a true angel!” All of her family concur and feel the void her passing imparts.
