Fred Czap, 68

Fred P. Czap, of Danbury, beloved husband of Barbara (Bertotti) Czap, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home on Friday, December 7 due to complications from lung cancer. He was born in Jersey City, NJ on August 10, 1944, son of the late Paul and Tillie (Sadlowsky) Czap.

Fred made his home in Danbury for more than 40 years. He owned and operated Barbara and Fred’s Jewelry on Germantown Road, along with his wife for more than 25 years.

Fred was a lighthearted man who adored his family. The highlight of his week was watching football with his three cherished grandchildren. He was an excellent fisherman and cherished his time spent with his family at the Jersey Shore. He will be missed every second of everyday and his family hopes to live a life that would make him proud.

In addition to his devoted wife of 48 years, Barbara, he is survived by his son, Paul Czap and his wife, Jacqueline of Danbury; his three grandchildren, Brandon, Nicholas and Jordan Christine Czap; and his sister, Marlene Wolfram with whom he shared a close relationship.

He was predeceased by his daughter, Christine.

Funeral Information

Funeral services will be held at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury on Tuesday, December 11 at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Wooster Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, December 10 between the hours of 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.
