Musicals at Richter Announces 2014 Season

The 2014 Musicals at Richter Board of Directors is excited to announce our 30th season Under The Stars!

We start our summer journey aboard the S.S. American in the Cole Porter classic Anything Goes! Set on the deck of a Trans-Atlantic cruise ship, this show combines madcap antics, a romantic love story, and a hilarious cast of characters. Anything Goes is a shining example of classic musical theater, complete with amazing tap numbers, campy jokes, unlikely happy endings and eminently hummable songs like “De-Lovely,” “I Get a Kick Out Of You” and “Anything Goes.” Anything Goes! will run from June 27th through July 12th!

“There is no place like Richter” and Dorothy will agree! Come celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the MGM Classic, The Wizard of Oz running July 25th through August 9th. Travel down the yellow brick road with Dorothy, Tin Man, Scarecrow and the Cowardly Lion as they search for the Wizard and the glowing Emerald City. Adapted from the famous movie starring Judy Garland, the stage version incorporates all of your favorite songs like “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” “If I Only Had a Brain,” and “King of Forest” with the rare dance number “The Jitterbug” which was cut from the original movie.

Join us for a summer of fun in our youth musical theatre program! Participants can experience all aspects of a production, as well as exploring the foundation skills necessary for putting on a show. Spend your mornings in workshops learning the basic fundamentals of music, choreography, acting and improv! The afternoons will be dedicated to putting the show together and rehearsing. This program offers a supportive environment where everyone is encouraged to use his or her creativity and imagination while working together as an ensemble to craft an exciting piece of theatre.

...Just don't try to walk your dog on Richter golf course...they HATE dogs there...and so does Mayor Boughton (but maybe he might try to help being that he wants votes to run for governor...doubt it though!)
