If you need one more wild night out before the end
of summer vacation, do not miss Thursday night, Aug. 22, when Dropkick
Murphys will be bringing down the house at Ives Concert Park in Danbury,
The night kicks off with Swingin’ Utters and Barroom Heroes at 7:30 and Celtic punk band Dropkick Murphys follow. This Boston area band formed in 1996 and has eight studio albums to date. Movies and television series have used their music for theme songs. Their hit “Tessie” continues to be played at red Sox games.
This general admission concert is different in that all of the seats have been removed from the reserved area to allow for the dance party of the summer. Chairs are permitted in the lawn section. There’s still time to buy tickets through ticketmaster.com or at the gate.
And please—stay out of the moat!
Do not miss Gold Rush and Caravan of Thieves on Aug. 25, Broadway’s Linda Eder on Aug. 31 and Ives Festival Orchestra on Sep. 8 to round out your summer entertainment. The orchestra is performing in Ives Concert Hall in White Hall on the WCSU Midtown campus, 181 White St.—not at the park.
