Cancer Prevention Study 3

Residents of Danbury and the surrounding communities, have an unprecedented opportunity to participate in a historic cancer prevention study that has the potential to change the face of cancer for future generations. 

The Cancer Prevention Study 3 is sponsored by the American Cancer Society and will examine lifestyle, genetics and environmental factors and help to understand what causes and prevents cancer from occuring.

To participate as a Study Participant on June 2nd you must be:

  • Between the ages of 30 and 65
  • Never been diagnosed with malignant cancer (basal and squamous cell are okay)
  • Willing to participate in a long-term study 

The enrollment process will take place at the New Fairfield High School track. This is the only site in the state of Connecticut selected for 2012. Study participants will be asked to side a consent form, complete a short enrollment survey, give a waist measurement (cms), and give a small blood sample (about 7 tsps). The entire process will take around one hour.
