Al Cutler Honored

Al Cutler, owner of Culter Glass Company, will be honored in a ceremony on June 16 at 11am as the first Friend of the Year for the Housatonic ReStore, 51 Austin Street, Danbury.  The ceremony is part of the first ReStore Birthday Bash celebration, which runs from 10am-1pm, and also includes hamburgers and hot dogs as well as discounted items for sale from the store.  ReStore is a home building supply thrift store that recycles new, gently used and antique items donated by manufacturers, stores, contractors and individuals. The donations are sold to the public at very low prices. All proceeds from sales go directly towards Housatonic Habitat for Humanity house construction program.

A native Danbury resident, Al has been in the glass business since 1960. He has been a member of the Catholic War Veterans since 1988 and a member of the Wooster Hose Volunteer Fire Department for more than 50 years. “Al has donated countless hours and resources to the success of ReStore as well as helping us reach out to other businesses in Danbury” said Paul Tocco, Director of ReStore Operations. “He is always lending a helping hand and volunteering his time to help his neighbors.”
