PHOntastic PHO!

Pho Vietname serves up delicious Pho!

Ever since we moved to Fairfield County, CT our great love for Vietnamese cuisine has been pretty much unrequited.  We have not been able to find a decent Vietnamese restaurant in this area.  We have tried Pho Saigon on Iranistan Ave in Bridgeport.  It’s good but not great.  I found their Pho a little too salty.  And their spring rolls tasted stale.  We also tried Saigon Deli in Fairfield … it turned out to be a HUGE disappointment as well.

Just as we were giving up on ever getting an authentic Vietnamese meal around here, we heard about Pho Vietnam in Danbury.  Of course, we had to check it out! And we are so glad we did.

The Pho is pretty good here and totally worth the trip.  We tried the Pho Shore (seafood) and Pho Sizzle (marinated grilled steak).  Both were excellent.  Their two soup bowl sizes are large and extra large!!!  Large ought to be good enough for anyone with an average appetite.

We also HAD to check out how they did their Cha Gio and Nem Nuong.  We perused the menu to find out that they do have Cha Gio but the closest thing to Nem Nuong that we could find on their menu was a dish called Goi Cuon.   Both rolls were good but not quite the same caliber as we hoped and longed for.
