WCSU Department of Music jazz concert

The Department of Music will present a jazz concert Feb. 21 at 8 p.m. in Ives
Concert Hall in White Hall on the university's Midtown campus, 181
White St. in Danbury. Featured will be Frankensax, directed by Andrew Beals; the WCSU Jazz Ensemble, directed by Jimmy Greene; and the WCSU Jazz Orchestra, directed by Jamie Begian.
The program will feature original compositions and arrangements by WCSU
students and jazz faculty. Selections will include John Coltrane's
"Naima," arranged by junior Greg LaPine; Wayne Shorter's "One By One,"
arranged by senior Tim Lewis; and Billy Staryhorn's "Upper Manhattan
Medical Group," arranged by junior Keith McDade. The concert will be
free and the public is invited. Donations to support the
Department of Music will be accepted. For a complete schedule of
