SKI NIGHT EXTRAVAGANZA

Calling all skiers! The Palace Danbury will host a special one-night screening of  “McConkey ” The new film from Red Bull Media House and MSP Films explores the life and untimely death of Shane McConkey, one of big-mountain skiings’ most extraordinary and innovative figures.

The “McConkey” screening is part of The Palace Danbury’s annual Ski Night Extravaganza. Sponsored by Ski Haus, over five thousand dollars worth of ski gear and lift tickets will being given away as door prizes! Prizes include skis, boots, poles, goggles, ski clothing, lift tickets and much more.

McConkey was a pioneer of freeskiing and ski-BASE jumping, For the uninitiated, “BASE” is an acronym for the activity where participants jump from fixed objects-- bridge, antenna, span, earth-- and use a parachute to break their fall.

Featuring incredible action footage and Shane’s own home videos, McConkey offers a rare look at his most intense risks as well as an intimate portrait of his personal life. Through interviews with friends, family, and other action sports legends, the film celebrates Shane and the legacy he left to the sport.
