Veterans Walkway of Honor at the Danbury War Memorial

A permanent commemorative walkway that will be lined with bricks engraved with the names of our honored heroes.

The Veterans Walkway of Honor is a permanent commemorative walkway that will be lined with bricks engraved with the names of honored men and women who have served our great country.

Who is eligible to be honored? Anyone who has served honorably in the armed forces or is currently on active duty or any Veteran organization.

Profits from the fundraiser will go directly to the Danbury War Memorial with a portion of the proceeds from each brick sale going to the Wounded Warrior Project.

"What better way to honor America's Veterans and to preserve the memory of a loved one who served bravely for our country," said Lee Teicholz, who spearheaded the fundraising campaign.

The late Stephen E. Ambrose once said, "The American citizen soldiers knew the difference between right and wrong, and they didn't want to live in a world in which wrong prevailed. So they fought, and won, and we all of us, living and yet to be born, must be forever profoundly grateful."

Phase 1 brick sales must be completed by April 15, 2013 to allow time for ordering and installation of the bricks with a dedication ceremony held shortly before Memorial Day.

We also invite you to include a photo and a short biography of the honoree. The photos and biographies will be used to create their own web page.

Please contact Lee Teicholz at (203) 748-0723 or by email at info@veteranswalkwayofhonor.org or Dan Hayes at (203) 743-3932 or by email at dhayes@war-memorial.org for any additional questions.
