Danbury Housing Partnership’s Annual Breakfast and Award Presentation
Danbury Housing Partnership’s Community
Breakfast will be held on October 18, 2012 from 7:30 to 9:00 am at the Matrix Corporate Center, 39 Old Ridgebury Road, Danbury, Connecticut.
The breakfast is an event dedicated to raising financial
support for enhancing the lives of individuals and families of our region by increasing the public awareness of homelessness and encouraging the creation of
affordable housing opportunities in the Housatonic Valley. Last year more than 250 people attended the breakfast. Presented by Mayor Mark Boughton, a highlight of
the event will be the presentation of the Danbury Housing Partnership Awards honoring individuals, groups and businesses for their work in providing
housing opportunities and supportive services for area residents in furthering implementation of the Ten-Year Plan To End Homelessness as follows:
Community Partnership Award: Reverend’s Wanda and Meredith Payton
Presented to a person or agency that develops affordable or supportive housing; advances the Partnership's goals of encouraging the creation of affordable or senior housing or makes other significant contributions towards implementing the goals and objectives of Danbury's Ten-Year Plan To End Homelessness.
Supportive Services Award: Michael Finn
Presented to a person or group that provides case management services to persons who are homeless, assists in housing placement or retention and assists in the implementation of the goals and objectives of Danbury's Ten-Year Plan To End Homelessness.
Business Partnership Award: Paul Mitchell; TCB
Salon and Spa
Presented to an organization, business or business
representative that has made contributions in the area of supportive or affordable housing or has made other significant contributions towards ending homelessness in the Danbury region consistent with the Ten-Year Plan To
The keynote speaker this year will be recognized Housing Leader, Carol Walter, Executive Director of Connecticut Coalition to End Homelessness, who
will speak about her results and efforts regarding the housing of the Homeless on a local, state and national level.
The breakfast will also promote the 6th Annual
Project Homeless Connect, a one-day event that brings more than 60 social service agencies to one location in an effort to streamline access to services for the homeless or those at risk of homelessness. The event is scheduled for
December 14, 2012 from 9am-3pm at the Western Connecticut State University, Midtown Campus.
