Candlewood Lions 14th Annual Chili Festival

Come Vote Early!  For your favorite CHILI, that is!  The Candlewood Lions Club of New Fairfield will hold its original 14th Annual Chili Competition on Saturday. October 12th  from 12 Noon - 2 PM at the Sunshine Senior Center in New Fairfield.

While eating & voting for your favorite chili why not enjoy a home baked dessert made by the Candlewood Lions. If you've consumed too much chili you can bring a homemade goodie home! Save the date!

The entire community is invited to attend, sample and vote for their favorite chili from among 12 pots or more. There will be three distinctive categories: Professional, Political and Individual.  A trophy will be awarded in each category, determined by the voters who attend.

The entry fees are as follows: $25 for the Professional or Political Category and $10 for the Individual Category.  The entrance fee for all tasters is only $3 for all over 5 years of age.  Children under 5 are free.

Come challenge last year's Chili Champions  - New Fairfield Food Center and Peachwave in the Professional Category, State Representative Richard Smith and State Senator Michael McLachlan in the Political Category and Margaret Bonitz and the New Fairfield Veterans' Association in the Individual Category.

Donations of canned goods will be accepted to aid the local Food Bank! Save the Date - Saturday, October 12!  Come make chili to compete or taste and vote!  Please let us know if you plan to enter by calling Lion Bob Gyle at (203) 746-6562 or Lion Alice Hoxie at (203) 405-6205.
