Blessing of the Animals

Danbury United Methodist Church, 5 Clapboard Ridge Road,Danbury,

to host a Blessing of the Animals, Sunday October 20, 1:00 p.m.

Calling all furry, feathered, and finned friends, and their people!  Pastor Kim Bosley will offer a Blessing of the Animals Service on Sunday, Oct. 20, at 1:00 p.m. in the church parking lot.  (Raindate is Oct. 27.)

The service will include songs, prayers, and an around-the-circle blessing for each animal present.  The service gives us an opportunity to give thanks for God's gift of creation, and especially the creatures that we share our homes with.

All animals are welcome.  Dogs should be leashed and cats in their carriers.  Please be mindful if you have pets that should be protected from the cold (canaries, etc.).  The service will last 30 minutes at most (depending on the number of animals).

This is a great opportunity for community fellowship, especially for children.  Please invite friends and neighbors and children who have pets.
