Politics and The Westconn SGA

Man of 1,000 Thoughts on The Westconn SGA Funding.

@Thoughts1000 presents:
Some thoughts on my dealings with the Westconn SGA this semester.

The WestConn SGA denied Grappling Club funding for wrestling mats. Their reasoning being: the club could use the mats that are in the O’Neill Center on the Westside Campus. There’s a few problems I have with this and I’ll express them now. From my year and a half of research, I haven’t found there to be any mats in the O’Neill Center, talking to everyone under the sun in relation to the Athletics Department. If there are, I really wouldn't be surprised. It’s not like dealing with the WestConn bureaucracy has ever lead me to any kind of truth or reality. These people lie through their teeth. The saddest part being I don’t think they know they’re lying sometimes.

If there are in fact mats that exist in the O’Neill Center, they are not made for grappling. Now, what is the problem that the Grappling Club can’t be afforded the one, only, single material that they need to function? They were afforded funding for promotion. The logic is baffling. So, I guess what I’m trying to say is: You guys clearly know how to handle finances and what’s best for clubs, go overspend another $100k you worthless, pompous miscreants.

In case you didn't know, the Westconn SGA overspent $100 thousand of their budget.  Let’s get real here, how do you overspend $100k? You don’t notice, say, at maybe $30k over the limit, “hmm, I think we may be a little over the budget.” That’s not a mistake. That’s not an accident. I’d have a hard time believing someone unintentionally overspent that much money because of some calculating error. I’m not trying to imply anything, but we either have some really incapable people running the budget show or there’s some backroom dealing going on with these crooked bandits.

Ask me about it @Thoughts1000
