In Every Life, There Should be "Justice"

The Immigration Law Offices of Cynthia R. Exner, LLC is proud to sponsor Tails of Courage.  Tails of Courage has been in operation since 2009. Every dog that comes into the facility, steals our hearts.  However, every now and again, one dog will stand out from the rest of the pack. “Justice” is one of those dogs. He signifies the reason why Tails of Courage was founded. Justice is one of our most cherished rescues ever. Here is his story, in his own words.

“I never had a name. I was left outside tied to a post for the first 4 years of my life. I stood, slept and ate in the dirt. I could only walk around in a small area.

My “home” was rocks and dirt.

If it rained, I laid down in the mud. When it was cold, I had only my fur to keep me warm. No one played with me and no one even gave me a name. Solitude was the only life I ever knew.

My owners finally decided to post me online for free because they didn’t want to even feed me anymore. Some kind rescue workers heard about me and rushed in, begging my owners to turn me over to Tails of Courage.

I was unchained for the very first time. I rode in a car for the very first time. I slept on a dog bed and it was wonderful.

I was vetted and neutered. Tails of Courage paid for everything. The vet thinks that I am a husky/malamute mix. I weigh in at about 80 lbs and am a 4 year old male.

When I arrived at Tails of Courage, they gave me the name of Justice, because they said that it was a regal name for a big boy like me.

Even after living outside on my own for so long, I surprised everyone at Tails of Courage. When I arrived, I just walked over next to one of the workers, sat down like a gentleman and looked up at the worker in thanks. I walked on a leash for the first time, and I LOVED IT! I never got to walk around before. Lots of dogs have trouble adjusting to a leash, but I was a natural.

I had my very first grooming the other day. The groomer at Tails of Courage, named Anne, washed my fur and brushed me! I never felt a brush before, and it was so relaxing. I have to admit that I wasn’t a huge fan of the dryer near my face, but I just stood there and cried like a baby. There is no aggression in me at all.

My favorite activity is to stand up on my hind legs, put my paws on the shoulders of the President of Tails of Courage, and give kisses. My short tether didn’t allow me to stand up on my hind legs ever before; and there was never anyone to give my kisses to. I am a big mush.

I have stolen the hearts of all the workers and volunteers at Tails of Courage. I would like to steal the hearts of a forever, loving family. I have never known love like this before, and I would like to bond with a family and show them all the love I have to give. Please come and see me at Tails of Courage, One Pembroke Rd., Danbury, CT any day, 7 days per week from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM or by appointment, or view me at www.tailsofcourage.org.

As for me; I have a name, and it is Justice. I am honored to be alive and to represent why Tails of Courage was created.”
