"I'm a Believer", by The Monkees

The Immigration Law Offices of Cynthia R. Exner, LLC is proud to sponsor the 501 c (3) dog rescue charity known as Tails of Courage.  This little dog has her own tail to tell.

“My name is Midge.  I am a little female Chihauhau mix, only about 2 or 3 years old.  I have been living at Tails of Courage, One Pembroke Road, Danbury, CT for about 6 or 7 months.  I had a litter of puppies when I was still a puppy myself.  Tails of Courage was able to place all of my puppies for adoption, but no one has wanted me.

I am VERY SWEET.  I come to most of the Adoption Events and everyone loves me and plays with me.  I enjoy cuddling with humans, but I also get along well with other dogs.   Many families have considered me, but no one has adopted me yet.  I am a premier “escape artist”.  I am fine in the kennel runs at Tails of Courage, but when I attend the Adoption Events where the pens aren’t high; I can climb up the sides of those playpens and run right up to families!  I would rather be with the families then with the other dogs!  As a result, I end up spending my time at the Adoption Events in a pet carrier.  I would like to have a family of my very own.  I have so much love to give.

But, some of my adult friends at the Tails of Courage kennel have been living at the kennel for a much longer time than me.  I am asking everyone to say a prayer for my friends.  With the holidays coming, can everyone say a little prayer for Big Mac, Mondingo, Kattie, Boots, Dos and especially Rascal.  Rascal has never lived in a home and he has been at the TOC kennels for the longest time.  He is so loving and has so much to give to a family.  He is a really sweet boy who was chained up behind a closed down shelter, and left to die.  He lived outside in the mud, rain, dirt and snow his entire life.  He was born at that “shelter”.  Even with all that happened to him, he has the sweetest temperament and is so very grateful to Tails of Courage for rescuing him.  I know that we will all CHEER the day that a family adopts Rascal.

If you aren’t able to fully adopt one of these loving animals, perhaps you can provide a loving foster home for a short time over the holidays.  Everyone should be home for the holidays.  These loving, gentle creatures have never known the warmth of a home, or the love of a family.  The kennel workers do their very best to play with all these wonderful dogs every day, but it’s not the same as the warmth of a real home.  Big Mac is absolutely gorgeous and regal, Mondingo loves to run and run (she would be perfect for an active family), Kattie is our sweet little hermaphrodite, Boots is King of the Hill, Dos is small and pretty and would do well in a family without other dogs… but Rascal is our Holiday Dog, just waiting for a place to call home.

As for me, everyone is shocked that no one has adopted me yet.  I am cute, special, kind, smart, loving and tiny.  What’s not to love?

Tails of Courage, One Pembroke Road, Danbury, CT.  TOC is open every day, 7 days a week, from 9:00 to 5:30 for adoptions.  You can complete an adoption application online at www.tailsofcourage.org and take home a little furry family member the day that you come to TOC and fall in love.

This weekend is PETSMART NATIONAL ADOPTION WEEKEND.  Tails of Courage is holding Adoption Events on Saturday, November 16, 2013 TOC at PetSmart, 288 West Avenue, Stamford, CT from 1-3, and on Sunday November 17, 2013 at PetSmart, 525 Connecticut Avenue, Norwalk, CT from 1-3.   There are over 50 puppies and dogs all available for adoption and another 30+ scheduled to arrive next week.  As the holiday season approaches, please consider opening your home to these little babies who have nothing.

My prayer is that someone will adopt at least one of the six of us before Thanksgiving.  And I’m a Believer.”
