The absolute worst business to approve during a time when the entire state struggles with poor or no healthcare coverage. Liver disease and other major illnesses attributed to alcohol consumption, not to mention motor vehicle deaths, is the inevitable outcome of a brewery. To think the benefits of a brewery will outweigh the negative effect more alcohol has on a community is outright foolish. Bliss, Alcohol or Love which one is it?

@OpportunistWatch-What the hell are you talking about? Duchess, McDonalds, Mr. Macs, all are way worse for Liver and kidney dx. Last I checked, beer was legal in CT. Get off your high horse and go enjoy a brew.

@Joe Mancini - What the heck are you talking about? Duchess sells Alcohol? Salads cause Liver disease? McDonalds coffee causes impaired driving? So alcohol is good for the liver and kidneys? Please put down the shot and beer it is STILL illegal to drink and drive. I don't think its illegal to eat an apple pie from McDonalds. Never mind high, your plastered, put down the beer tap, sober up, realize your addiction and enjoy a glass of water for a change. You may need some detox before you stop cold turkey, you can die if you don't ween off it if you drink alcohol daily for a long period of time. Breweries are NOT THE ANSWER.

@OpportunistWatch-Thanks for the laugh. Yes, people go to McDonalds for the salads like men go to strip clubs for the free buffet. The "food" McDonalds serves is so loaded with chemicals that have to be metabolized through the liver and filtered by the Kidneys, this leads to disease as well as diabetes. But you continue on your crusade against people enjoying a brew every now and then and go eat your salad at McDonalds.

Yeah the buffets are great! Not to mention the obscene amount of salt in their foods which is contributing greatly to a slew of health problems. And beer in moderation is actually good for you. In more ways than one. Since when are motor vehicle deaths an inevitable outcome of a brewery? Just because they make it doesn't mean you have to drink it. Cars don't go kill people on their own, they need someone with a good dose of idiot to do it for them. Which you, opportunist, have plenty of. Plus, with the rate at which craft breweries are growing it's an excellent venture to pursue and boost our economy.
