Danbury Jobs Fair Tuesday

The state, city, chamber, workforce investment board and Cumulus Media are sponsoring a jobs fair at the Ethan Allen Inn, Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

More companies and more employees are expected Tuesday at the next state Department of Labor jobs fair.

"We're seeing a significant increase in the number of companies looking for employees," said Stephen Bull, president of the

Bull said the fair is co-sponsored by the federally-funded workforce investment board, which helps workers find new work through training. Bull said a growing part of the training is called Incumbent Worker Training, which has the goal of encouraging lean manufacturing by retraining workers.

"If they make the company more efficient, the'll hire more people," Bull said.

The jobs fair is 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday at the, 20 Lake Avenue Ext.
