Fireworks in Danbury This Weekend and Next

Fireworks on Candlewood Lake Saturday and at Danbury Fair Mall next weekend.

The annual Danbury Volunteer Fireman’s Fireworks Show is set for Saturday over the waters of Candlewood Lake.

The show will start directly after sunset, with fireworks launching from City Island. A rain date has been set for Sunday, June 29.

The show can be viewed from areas all around the southern end of the lake, as well as from the lake itself.

Boats entering Danbury Bay will be stopped for safety inspections, including a personal floatation device for each person on board (children under 13 must be wearing theirs) and proper navigation lighting.

“An boat found not having the required safety equipment will be turned away from the area and ordered back to shore,” Candlewood Lake Authority Marine Patrol said in a release.

Vessels will not be allowed to moor or anchor south of the established safety zone (just north of City Island) for the 5 hours leading up to the show. Boats will not be able to travel south of the safety zone for 2 hours prior to the show.

Another fireworks show is also scheduled for July 3, put on by Danbury Fair Mall.
