The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for Fairfield County and all of southern Connecticut Friday afternoon and evening as thunderstorms continue to drop inches of rain across the region.

The warning is in effect until 9 p.m. Friday.

The National Weather Service (NWS) is predicting 1 to 3 inches of rain to fall across Northern Fairfield County, with heavier showers possible that could bring 1 to 2 inches per hour this evening.

Due to recent rainfall in the area, flash flooding could produce dangerous situations.
