Rep. Scribner: Increased Service on Danbury Branch Trains

State Rep. David Scribner (R-107), Ranking Member of the Transportation Committee, is announcing that upcoming weekday Danbury Branch train service improvements are going into effect Sunday, November 17.

The Connecticut Department of Transportation has confirmed six new weekday trains have been added, providing a total of 28 weekday trains for Danbury Branch riders. The new schedule increases service during all off-peak time periods and adjusts the times of several trains.

“The Danbury Branch of Metro-North is relied upon heavily by our community, and I’m pleased this enhanced service will increase options and convenience for commuters,” Rep. Scribner said.

The increased service comes at the conclusion of a signal system project that upgraded or constructed several portions of parallel track, which allow more than one train to travel the corridor at a time.

Schedule Change Details:

During AM reverse peak, a new northbound train will depart South Norwalk at 7:33am, arriving in Danbury at 8:37am

New off-peak trains will depart South Norwalk at 10:08am and 10:40am. The 11:15am from South Norwalk will now depart 60 minutes later at 12:15pm
