Redding Kindness Klub Donates Warm Hats for Preemies to Western Connecticut Health Network Foundation Kids Care Club

The Kindness Klub at Redding Elementary School has donated handmade hats for preemies to the Spratt Family Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Danbury Hospital. The donation was part of a project the club completed called, “Warm Hats for Preemies.”

The Kindness Klub expressed an interest in the NICU and wanted to do something that would benefit the community’s premature babies. Club members hoped this donation would brighten the day of the families and loved ones of the Hospital’s tiniest and most fragile patients. Executive Director and Vice President of the Foundation, Grace Linhard stated, “we are so grateful for the thoughtfulness of this group.”

About The Kids Care Club

The Kids Care Club at Western Connecticut Health Network encourages children under the age of 18 to make donations in support of pediatric programs and services at Danbury Hospital and/or New Milford Hospital. Donations help purchase toys, videos/movies, video games and systems, and more to make children’s hospital stays more comfortable. Children raise funds in many ways, including: asking friends and family for donations; organizing penny drives, lemonade stands, or other events; raising funds in lieu of birthday gifts; or donating a portion of their allowance.
