Macy's Believe Campaign continues through December 24th - help make wishes come true this holiday season

There is still time for holiday shoppers to help make wishes come true this holiday season. The Macy’s Believe Campaign continues through December 24th at every local Macy’s across the nation; for each letter written to Santa and dropped in the Macy’s Believe Mailboxes located in all Macy’s stores, $1 will be donated to Make-A-Wish up to $1 million. The mission of Make-A-Wish is to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. With only a few days left in the campaign, believers of all ages are encouraged to help Make-A-Wish and Macy’s reach their $ 1million goal and make wishes come true.

On December 6th, Macy’s and Make-A-Wish celebrated the annual National Believe Day, granting over 50 wishes in chapters throughout the country. Make-A-Wish Connecticut partnered with Renee DiNino of Clear Channel Radio and hosted an hourly gift card giveaway at Macy’s in Westfarms Mall as an incentive for people to write the letters throughout the day. Later that afternoon, 10-year-old Myles’ wish to travel to Canada and spend Christmas with his family and relatives began with a holiday celebration hosted by Macy’s. The Macy’s team honored Myles and his family with gifts for their upcoming journey, including clothes for a family portrait, games, a portable DVD with movies for the trip, picture frames, and more. Make-A-Wish volunteers also delivered an array of gifts as well as food, beverages and a cake for their honored guest.

“We are proud to be a part of the Believe Campaign once again this year,” stated Michael Dominick, Community & Media Relations Manager for Make-A-Wish Connecticut. “We can all help make a wish come true this holiday season, and we thank Renee DiNino and Clear Channel, and of course our friends at Macy’s, from the bottom of our hearts for their continued support and friendship”.

About Make-A-Wish® Connecticut
The Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Connecticut grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.  Wish-come-true experiences can do wonders by providing a much-needed break from lengthy hospital stays and medical treatments. They give back to a child what a serious medical condition can take away—the chance to simply enjoy being a kid. Wish kids choose something that will inspire happiness, and allow them to spend precious time with their families. The Connecticut chapter has made over 2,300 wishes come true since its inception in 1986.
