Kevin's Community Center continues training to deal with Sandy Hook tragedy response

PRESS RELEASE:

Doctors, nurses, therapeutic clinicians and members of the Board of Directors from Kevin’s Community Center(KCC), the free medical clinic serving Newtown, participated in a workshop on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) on Friday, May 9, 2014 at the Leir Retreat Center in Ridgefield, Connecticut.  Coordinated by KCC Medical Director and Founder Dr. Z. Michael Taweh, the workshop consisted of an interactive panel discussion with psychotherapy professionals from CPC Associates in Danbury.  The workshop, entitled “Managing Trauma for Sandy Hook Survivors” was a follow-up training session for the volunteer staff at KCC to continue to be able to effectively address the post traumatic needs of members of the Newtown community.
