DANBURY, CT (29 January 2013) – The 399th Danbury Composite Squadron, Civil Air Patrol, held an end ofmonth promotion ceremony at squadron headquarters located at Danbury Municipal Airport. Major Jim Vigar, Commander of the 399th, welcomed family and friends to the ceremony.
Cadet Scott Padron received the Charles A. Lindbergh Achievement. This achievement focuses on instrument flight and airpower leadership. Cadet Padron was promoted to the grade of Cadet Master Sergeant.
Cadet Stephen Bruno received the Wright Brothers Award. To earn this award a cadet must pass a challenging examination, testing leadership knowledge and proficiency in drill and ceremonies. Cadet Bruno was promoted to Staff Sergeant.
Cadet David Nolan obtained the Mary Feik Achievement which commemorates the leadership and pioneering contributions Mary Feik made to the world of aviation. Cadet Nolan was promoted to Cadet Senior Airman.
Cadet Adam Woodbyrne was promoted to Cadet Airman Basic, the introductory grade for all Civil Air Patrol Cadets. Cadet Woodbyrne will now embark upon a program that includes aerospace education, leadership training, physical fitness and moral leadership.
399th Officers also received awards and promotions. Glen Dains, Professional Development Officer, was promoted to Major. Transportation Officer Jeffrey Jenkins received his Second Lieutenant grade, and senior member Randall Patterson was awarded a membership ribbon.
