Missy Lost Her Home Twice!! Can You give Her a Forever Home?

Missy's story was a quiet one for about ten years.  Apparently she was rescued from a family where the husband "just didn't like her".  Maybe that's why they declawed her? She went to live with an older woman.  At this point she was very shy and scared.  Who knows what happened in the house where she wasn't liked. She would run and hide anytime anyone came over, but she did learn to trust her "mom" and would hang out with her on the couch.

We were contacted when the woman who "saved" her had decided to move south and really didn't want to have to deal with taking her with her.  So much for saving Missy. It was put her in a shelter (one that would take her) or put her to sleep.  Clearly we couldn't have THAT be the ending for Missy.

We didn't know how she would do in the shelter.  She huddled in her basket bed inside a cage for months.  She would hiss or growl a little to let us know she was unhappy, but was afraid, NOT aggressive.  Finally she decided to venture out into the room.  We were all happily surprised!

You can now find Missy sleeping or hanging out in any number of places in our shelter.  One of her favorites though is in the middle of the room on one of the cat trees!

Missy may take time in another home to come around and feel safe again.  She has been through a lot, especially in the "trusting humans department".  After all, she is now about 11 years old and never expected to be abandoned AGAIN.

Missy would not be any trouble for some caring individual.  She would need a quiet home.  She does not need to be the only cat, as long as your current cat isn't an "in your face" type of cat!  She would happily co exist as she has proven to us!  WE are quite proud of her progress and would now like nothing more than to be able to find her a final home once and for all.
