Monday night the Ives Concert Park was filled with 4900+ fans for Rock and Roll Hall of Fame legends Steely Dan.
On Wednesday night, Grammy Award Winner Alison Krauss and Union Station came to town and filled the park again with 4000 guests for a beautiful evening of music.
This Saturday,we change gears and urge you to put on your dancing shoes, bring the family and enjoy another great event.
As part of the Newtown Savings Bank Fine Arts & Family Series, the Ives Concert Park opens it gates for a Free Community Event featuring the Connecticut Ballet.
The Connecticut Ballet's 30th anniversary celebration comes to the Ives stage with a performance by the Ballet's statewide Summer Dance Caravan.
The Dance Caravan will feature exciting classical, contemporary and dramatic works performed by sixteen professional dancers. The event will be on the stage, and guests do not need to bring chairs or blankets, as everyone will sit in the reserved seating.
If you come early, you can watch or partake in a complimentary Ballroom Dance Class with John Vitti and his Dance Studio. The master teacher will be giving lessons from 6pm to 7pm. It is advised you bring your dance shoes and show off your moves. It promises to add to the fun of the night for all.
The Connecticut Ballet performance will be begin at 7:30pm, Saturday, July 30th (with a raindate for July 31st). The show is Free.
The Artistic Director is Brett Raphael. The dance will be dramatic and entertaining, and is strongly recommonded for young and old.
It promises to be a beautiful evening of great Dance, Music, and Fun once again under the stars. Please come out to enjoy this free event.
